{"id":4247,"date":"2020-06-30T11:19:15","date_gmt":"2020-06-30T11:19:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.activecitizensfund.gr\/?post_type=foreis&#038;p=4247"},"modified":"2020-06-30T11:20:03","modified_gmt":"2020-06-30T11:20:03","slug":"hellenic-children-s-museum-hcm","status":"publish","type":"foreis","link":"https:\/\/www.activecitizensfund.gr\/en\/project-promoter\/hellenic-children-s-museum-hcm\/","title":{"rendered":"Hellenic Children\u2019s Museum (HCM)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Hellenic Children\u2019s Museum <\/strong>is a non-profit organization of public welfare, legally established in Athens, Greece in 1987 by a group of young professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Its <strong>purpose<\/strong> is to help children develop all aspects of their personality in order to become citizens who respect their own individuality and to obtain a social conscience.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose <strong>addresses<\/strong> all children, without exception, families, school communities and everyone who is interested in the multilateral development of children or is directly or indirectly related to children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The HCM mission: <\/strong><strong>To encourage every child to discover, to understand, to learn, to enjoy and to shape the world in which (s)he lives with a respect for individuality and an emphasis on team work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Children\u2019s Museum of Athens <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since 1994, the HCM has established and operates with the collaboration of the Municipality of Athens the <strong>\u201cChildren\u2019s Museum of Athens\u201d,<\/strong> a museum with interactive exhibits especially designed for children up to 12 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The Children\u2019s Museum of Athens is a place that offers multifaceted education and recreation and constitutes an important first step in a child\u2019s familiarity with the concept \u201cmuseum\u201d. It derives its subjects from science and technology, the natural environment, arts, social studies, language, mathematics and children\u2019s daily life and interests.<\/p>\n<p>At the exhibits of the Children\u2019s Museum of Athens, children can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>use all their senses<\/li>\n<li>explore the objects<\/li>\n<li>\u00abplay role games\u00bb and cooperate with other children as well as with their parents<\/li>\n<li>assemble or disassemble objects<\/li>\n<li>understand through play how something works etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The HCM\u2019s educational programs <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The HCM designs and implements <strong>educational programs<\/strong> that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>support learning through play<\/li>\n<li>encourage children to express themselves, take initiatives &amp; decisions &amp; solve problems<\/li>\n<li>strengthen children in order to deal with today\u2019s challenges so as to become active and responsible citizens of the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The educational programs are being implemented at the Children\u2019s Museum of Athens, at schools and at other venues (factories, other museums &amp; cultural sites etc.) all over Greece.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hellenic Children\u2019s Museum is a non-profit organization of public welfare, legally established in Athens, Greece in 1987 by a group of young professionals.
