The project will address the constant threats arising from fake news, cyberbullying, cyber threats and online scams against students and young people who are participating very early on social media. Such threats are an obstacle for the creation of digital citizenship.

The students, in order to be capable as active citizens of tomorrow and be able to understand and effectively address the continuing threats, need to strength their digital skills. For this reason, the project aims to develop the necessary digital skills to enhance citizenship and the use of media, in particular to raise awareness and ensure the participation of beneficiaries in public affairs via media.

The training will be done to 30 students aged 8 to 12 years, from the region of Attica by two instructors.  At the same time, a training of 30 parents of students aged 8-12 years from the region of Attica will take place by two instructors respectively. The project will be implemented following the customization of the existing educational material developed by Cyberno (aiming to educate the beneficiaries) in order to be adapted to the need of students participating in public affairs.

After the completion of the training, students as digital citizens of tomorrow will be able to be responsible for the training of other students in their schools, having the support of an educational “material” as well as the support of an instructor. After the completion of the project, the 60 participants will have developed deeper knowledge on issues related to citizens’ participation in the public affairs via the Internet and digital media. Cyberno will implement the project.
