The 4-year strategic plan of Special Olympics Hellas (2022 – 2025), in addition to the foreseen operational programs implementation, sets critical pillars of organizational development which require a significant investment for their implementation. These actions ensure the viability and sustainability of the organization’s strategic priorities and enhance:

• The expansion of the quality and the impact of our programs for athletes
• The better organization of operation and processes
• The increase of the visibility and recognition of Special Olympics Hellas
• The promotion of volunteering (attracting, training and better management and coordination of volunteers)
• Awareness raising on issues of intellectual disabilities
• The implementation of our strategic fundraising plan, the sustainability and viability of organization

The proposed actions for subsidization from the ACF concern the following sectors which will be enhanced:
• Operational sector via a trainings program manager and a volunteer coordinator
• The digitization of services and technological modernization
• Communication via a campaign of organization
• Sustainability enhancing fundraising department

The project will immediately strengthen the implementation of strategic plan 2022-2025. Hence, Special Olympics Hellas will be given the opportunity to strengthen abilities to offer opportunities for training and participation in competitions to children and young people with intellectual disabilities, to enable them to develop physically, mentally, socially and spiritually, to share the joy that sport offers, in an environment of respect and acceptance. The project will promote volunteerism and raise public awareness of issues affecting people with intellectual disabilities.
